I know how desperately you want to start studying and checking out books. The Val A. Browning Library is open 7 days a week. It is building 5 on the campus map. It is open Monday-Thursday from 7:30am to 11:45pm. It opens Friday at 7:30am as well but closes at 6:45pm. Saturday hours are from 12noon until 6:45pm. The library is also open Sunday from 3pm-9:45pm.
There is a computer lab downstairs at the library. It closes one hour before the library each day and is not open at all on Saturday.
To check out a book, you need your Student ID Card with current semester sticker. NO EXCEPTIONS! Books can be checked out for 3 weeks at a time. In addition to books, they also have CDs and DVDs. The collection is small, but there are a few decent movie options. Save yourself some cash and check there first. Of course, you can use the online catalog to look up your selection before you leave your apartment.
Many teachers place a copy of their text book on reserve at the library. If you are waiting on financial aid or a paycheck before you can get your books, you can take your Student ID card to the library and likely be able to check out your text book for 1-4 hours for use in the library. If you are short a little cash and can't afford all your books, see which are available in the library and buy the others that aren't available. You do risk your book not being available when you need it, so don't put your assignments off until the last minute.
The library staff is very kind and willing to help however possible. Do visit the library.
